Bydgoszcz is actively implementing modern energy management systems in municipal facilities. The use of advanced technologies and adherence to the highest ecological and functional standards are crucial for improving the city's energy efficiency. In the middle of March 2024, a delegation of representatives of Polish local governments visited Dresden as part of the DUET project. The main purpose of the study visit was to learn about Dresden's approach to the topic of energy management, renewable energy sources, energy-efficient infrastructure, and to gain inspiration on sustainable practices in the city.
The event started on the 13th of March at Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden). Anna Jaskuła from PNEC and Hanna Lewandowska from the City of Bydgoszcz officially opened the meeting. The purpose of DUET project was presented by Justyna Janosz-Klus from PNEC. Romuald Meyer from PGK SA introduced the topic of hydrogen in the production of energy and the transportation sector. The official opening session was an opportunity for introduction and networking between all the participants of the event.

At the beginning of November 2023, the delegation of representatives of Polish local governments gathered in Hamburg, one of the biggest German Cities, in the framework of DUET project. The guests would like to learn more about the experience, work and activities of institutions and companies related to energy management and efficiency, and responsible use of resources.

On September 6-7, 2023, representatives of local authorities from the Białystok Functional Area, the Bydgoszcz Metropolis, and the Bydgoszcz-Toruń Functional Area visited Bydgoszcz for a study visit focused on urban energy management, organised as part of the DUET project. The main objective of this visit was to exchange experiences, learn about best practices in sustainable energy development within the city of Bydgoszcz, and seek inspiration for introducing new initiatives in their own municipalities.

In 2023, the City of Bydgoszcz, as an active participant in the DUET project, engaged in activities related to the European Climate Initiative (EUKI). The series of events they participated in aimed to strengthen cooperation and build new skills useful for project implementation.

In spring 2023, two important training sessions took place for the staff of the Energy Management Office and representatives from various departments of the Bydgoszcz Municipality. The primary focus of these sessions was on the recent amendments to energy law and the certification of buildings for energy efficiency. The aim of the training was to equip participants with the knowledge necessary for the efficient use of electricity in public buildings, aligning with the new law enacted in October 2022.
