A short film has been produced to illustrate how Bydgoszcz has revolutionized energy management. This film is an inspiring story of how modern technologies and a visionary approach can transform the daily management of urban resources, bringing tangible benefits to residents and the environment. It presents the Building Energy Management System (BEMS), an automated tool for remote control of temperature, air conditioning, ventilation, and lighting, which optimizes energy consumption. The film highlights the challenges the city faced, managing 300 buildings and generating over 41,000 paper invoices annually, amounting to approximately 120,000 pages.
The key to success proved to be the robotization and digitalization of utility bills. As a result, Bydgoszcz not only eliminated paper documents and gained fast, electronic distribution but, above all, significantly reduced utility costs. Furthermore, the film emphasizes that the newly created database is not solely for savings. It becomes a powerful tool for generating recommendations for the thermal modernization of public buildings and supporting the development of renewable energy sources. This demonstrates how Bydgoszcz's innovative approach contributes to building a more sustainable and ecological future for the city.
