Bydgoszcz is actively implementing modern energy management systems in municipal sports facilities. The use of advanced technologies and adherence to the highest ecological and functional standards are crucial for improving recreation and health conditions for residents. The Astoria sports complex is an excellent example of an investment that successfully combines modernity with functionality, creating a welcoming space for both residents and athletes.
The new Astoria sports complex, located in the city centre by the Brda River, was built on the site of the old swimming pool complex from the 1960s, which required extensive modernisation. The new Astoria offers a wide range of recreational and health attractions for the residents of Bydgoszcz and surrounding areas. The facility combines an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a gym area, an exercise room, and a wellness area, creating a comprehensive sports and recreational offer.
Between 2017 and 2020, major construction and modernisation works were carried out. As a result, the facility was equipped with BMS (Building Management System), ESOK (Electronic Customer Service System), CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television), water treatment system (DAISY), heat recovery system, and photovoltaic panels. Thanks to these modern technologies, efficient energy management and user comfort are ensured.
Benefits:
- optimisation of energy consumption and the potential to achieve a self-sufficient building
- improved user comfort and wider utilisation of the facility
- increased operational efficiency in facility management
- support for athletes, development of tourism, and the city's attractiveness
