Bydgoszcz Dzieli Się Sukcesem minAn effective energy management system streamlines office work, allowing for easy analysis of available information to identify shortcomings and implement improvements for efficient energy management. These improvements are a crucial step towards more sustainable urban development and setting the right direction in climate and energy policy.

After the successful implementation of an innovative system, known as the Energy Management Database (BZE), in Bydgoszcz as part of the DUET project, the city initiated sharing its knowledge and experience with neighboring municipality. The goal is to improve their energy management systems and support the region's sustainable development. The City of Bydgoszcz prepared a detailed specification for five communes: Białe Błota, Dobrcz, Koronowo, Mrocza, and Osielsko. This document was developed based on Bydgoszcz's existing energy management system, preceded by intensive consultations and a thorough identification of the specific needs of each of these municipalities.

The municipalities covered by the initiative include the ones being the part of Bydgoszcz Metropolis Association:

  • Białe Błota: A rural municipality located in the southwestern part of the Bydgoszcz district. Its direct proximity to a large city fosters dynamic development.
  • Dobrcz: A rural municipality in the Bydgoszcz district, situated north of Bydgoszcz.
  • Koronowo: An urban-rural municipality in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in the northwestern part of the Bydgoszcz district. It is the largest municipality in the district, with a tourism and agricultural character.
  • Osielsko: A rural municipality, also located in the Bydgoszcz district.
  • Mrocza: An urban-rural municipality, located in the Nakło district.

The prepared documentation is based on energy menagement process automation and utilizes technical solutions similar to those applied in Bydgoszcz's energy management system. Key aspects included considering the specific needs, technical capabilities, and human resources of each of the five selected municipalities.

This initiative emphasizes the importance of metropolitan cooperation in striving for more efficient energy resource management and building a more sustainable future for the entire region.
